I feel like you could do a version of this, but you couldn't script it. I'm not sure what his intent was. Was he going to use it on himself? That part was really ambiguous. Is this the official beginning of Claire just having bad choice in men for the rest of her life? Do you notice where they make out at the end of the movie in front of her dad? Yeah. If I was Claire's dad, I would have run over Bender with my car.
