The Genre of Dunkirk
Dunkirk is one of the briefest of Nolan's movies and it feels worthy of its runtime in a very specific way when it's over. My whole feeling is that Every movie is a genre movie Eric Romer movies are genre movies there Eric Romer. But with Dunkirk it seems like he made it for reasons different than anybody's ever made a big battle movie before It is far less important to him to tell you the story of exactly what happened in Dunkirk And I think the reason he wanted to do it is Less important than the story he figured out how she figured out how to make a movie about it.
