Is There a Deficit in the Apennines?

The bulk of snowfall in the area comes in January, February and March. The main issue with the Apennines is that they don't have glacier supply. In the Alps we can somehow cope with the dry weather by using glacier melt. Given that there is no glacier in central and south in Italy no really provides a big chunk of the total water.
