The Power of Testimony and Exhortation
In verse 40, with many other words, did he testify and exhort? In fact, he probably included many other scriptures as well. Notice he's testifying and exhorting, powerful combination. And notice what his exhortation includes, saying, save yourselves from this untoward generation or more accurately, come unto Christ so he can save you from it. They take him up on that offer. That's the miracle of this day of Pentecost. Not just that the Lord sent the Spirit, but that the Spirit changed hearts, even previously hardened ones. The promise is for all of them, all of us as well.
