The New Politeness and Political Happiness
Political philosophy in antiquity is not like modern political philosophy, he says. Plato and Aristotle considered the polis or city as an ethical community where you can reach virtue so it's quite different from a modern political perspective. The new politeness thought also like this that community living with people is a way of reaching virtue and it is a ways of reaching happiness for example. And so getting your political regime in the right order would in a sense be the first step or at least an early step on the way to some kind of fulfilled wisdom and happiness are they right?
