The Rise of the Baroque Theater in Brooklyn
In 1928 the richly ornamented and Baroque Fox theater opened downtown on Flatbush Avenue it it sat more than 4,300 people. In 1932 architect Edward Durlstone an interior designer Donald Deskey designed this lavish theater in the Art Deco style. On opening night October 27th 1932 Roxy presented a mind bugglingly long six-hour spectacleOkay live acts only live acts that completely exhausted his audiences and was a complete bomb It's like Coachella on the stage without the drugs clearly these theaters need to be retrofitted for audio from films film with sound is going to rule the day here.
