The New York Islanders' New Logo
The New York Islanders' new logo was inspired by Billy Joel's song Down East Erlexia. The team hired Shawn Michael Edwards, who had designed and redesigned the branding for several professional sports teams. Esil Me design submitted toTeam executives during the 94-95 season. It was a gray-bearded, fierce-looking fisherman wearing a tail-slicker and a rain hat while brandishing a hockey stick.
