The past is open to retroactive reinterpretations while the future is closed since we live in a deterministic universe this doesn't mean that we cannot change the future it just means that in order to change our future we should first change our past. The struggle for the historical place of the French revolution exploded again liberal revolutionists tried to impose the notion that the disintegration of communism in 1989 at least in Eastern Europe occurred at exactly the right moment two centuries after 1789 French revolution so that they claim this was this were the revolutionary two hundred years that time is over but I think that you see now to open the way for a new future which will not just be the repetition of the past.
