The Phenomenal Self Is Real
I think psychology often deals with the stories we tell the fictional self. And those are the ones that really get us into trouble because if we don't examine them, they can be dangerous to ourselves and each other. I would split that and go back to what a nail said because I think science can study the phenomenal self. We might give other people the benefit of the doubt all the time but not others. That's what I'm saying about the unreliable narrator. The stories we tell are self interested and if we had a little more humility about that, we could examine them as stories. They're not the whole truth.
