O Lord, I Am the Lord Your God.

Moses declared to the sons of Israel the appointed feasts of the Lord. Psalm 79 is a plea from mercy for Jerusalem, a psalm of Asaph. O God, the heathen have come into your inheritance and defiled your holy temple. They have poured out their blood like water round about Jerusalem; there was none to bury them. We have become a taunt to our neighbors, mocked and derided by those round about us. How long will you be angry forever? Will your jealous wrath burn like fire? Pour out your anger on the nations that do not know you."
