The Biden Administration's Proclamation on Changing Federal Cannabis Policy
Biden is the first sitting US President to issue any kind of proclamation on changing federal cannabis policy, I think that is a big deal. He also encouraged governors of states to follow his lead and pardon people at a state of jail. What he truly did though is a little less significant because he issued a statement saying that he was going to pardon federal prisoners convicted of simple possession. So it's not nothing, but it does feel like a gesture largely for people who are sitting in prison Who were arrested with cannabis while also in possession of a legal licensed handgun for instance That makes it a felony so you're not available for this legislation wouldn't affect you. Rescheduling instead of rescheduling
