Sally Kohn: If we take his ideas seriously, what is the necessary conclusion? Well, Nietzsche takes us there. So if these extraordinary individuals are the ends, then the rest of the people, the ordinary people are simply means. And he says that society depends on slavery, on making people instruments. The exception is usually of immense value, the inevitability of the social order sort of dying away. But we might nevertheless cringe when Nietzsche forces us to look at the other side of this picture from the noble individual.
