The Assassination of Lorenzo De Medici

Lorenzo de Medici and his brother Giuliano were to be killed in 1478. Montesquo balked at the idea of stabbing a man on a holy day, so he was replaced by two priests. The brothers went to mass together but later returned home for more time with their friend Cardinal Raphael. This gave the assassins even more time to get into position.
