As relationships between US and China are very frosty, why wouldn't the Federal Reserve pivot? At what point would China's problem become the world's problem and the Fed's problem? I think they are still talking and they both have an interest to not let the global system go down. When you look at Chinese equities and you try to find the correlation with the Chinese economy, you don't find any. The Chinese stock market to Chinese investors has never been important because two-thirds of their savings are invested in the real estate market. Europe is suffering much higher energy prices than anybody else in the world as it depends on Russia for its supply.
