The Fear of AI

I think for most people, infinite wealth from AI is non-obvious. If we could just raise the average intelligence and health of humans by 10%, it would make huge differences for the world. And yet they don't. I guess it's much easier to just stop people from doing that because there's really no massive well of venture capital funding ready to be allocated towards something like human germline experimentation. So maybe now you could get a sort of groundswell of political sentiment backing up something like this.
