Do You Know if You Can Repeat False Claims?

CNN's John Defterios looks at a libel case against Fox News. The suit claims that fox news repeated false statements made by President Donald Trump during the election campaign. Judge says there is no legal protection for repeat of untrue or defamatory comments, but if you quote someone and they say it to you in quotation marks, your words are not free from being used as defamation evidence. Iffox loses this case, i understand them going to make appeals trying to push the libel standards. They'll try to craft some sort of narrative about how all fox news was doing was repeating what the president and his minions were saying. That could get us into trouble because we're supposed to be fact checking
