The US's Response to COVID-19

Nick Close: COVID is like this shock to the American political economy. He says it lays bare some of the fundamental structural features that are often easier to overlook when we don't have a pandemic tearing apart our society. We've seen death rates at the very top of the world, no other nation has experienced the death rates the United States has over the long term, he says. And then finally, we've just seen all the ways in which both state and federal political institutions and policies are pretty weak for dealing with this kind of crisis, right?
