The Cost of Immortality

We'll be recommending some of our favorite books and narratives which explore that ironically timeless question. In the final clip, we wanted to go back to a passage shared by someone who was thinking about this question of immortality while on his deathbed. The observation comes from Alan Leitmann's 1993 novel, Einstein's Dreams. He writes: With infinite life comes an infinite list of relatives. Grandparents never die, nor do great grandparents, great aunts, and so on back through the generations - all alive and offering advice. No one ever comes into his own, such is the cost of immortality. No person is whole. No person is free.
