Life in a virtual world, at least in principle, can be real, can be meaningful. And that also has applications to to the more realistic metafes. If we've found out wewere in a simulation for a few months, we'd all be shocked. Ye, a couple of years down the track, we're going to return to, i don't know, watching the football and the weak end and living our ordinary lives, be real. It i still be real, it wid still be meaningful.
We spend more time in digital, virtual spaces than ever. But are those places really real? If they are, does that mean we could be living in virtual reality right now? Or does it even make sense to ask such a question? Philosopher David Chalmers joins Adam to talk about consciousness, the nature of reality, and the limits of digital technology.
