What's the Difference Between a Sherry Purchase and a Dividend?
Hamish: Tax is probably going to be the main reason why there is any difference in, ah, the way that businesses distribute. Ah, another thing sort of to mention, i think in the u s, and i'm not even sure if this is century, but from my understanding, tha, capital gains in the u s,. attack at a lower rate, a far lower rate than dividends. And as a result, i think that probably drives why a lot of u s companies up do shary purchases instead of paying dividends.
