It's Not the Best Day of My Life

The tension is what was interesting about the auto tune, and I think it's also the tension of that lyric as well. We spent a lot of time on that lyric, right? Like over a week, maybe two weeks. And it's this very subtle unraveling of the fact that ultimately it's not the best day of your life. But even that, in a way, can't be too on the nose. It has to be done so delicately. There's a darkness to it, which is very difficult to pinpoint. The songs too much. It became too sincere. That took away from the honesty of it.
