What's the Difference Between Journalism and Politics?

I think they legitimately think we're a journalist. They do suspect maybe some spies use journalism as a cover, so they might keep an eye on your activities just to see if you're doing any sort of spy-like things. I think the way they see journalists is as most journalists is as journalists that are somehow also tied to government policy in their country. In China, all the main news organizations are state-run and you're supposed to be representing the interests of the state or the party. And so, the articles are publicity or propaganda. They're not critical. So, I think that explains a lot about why Western journalists often find themselves in opposition to the demands of Chinese officials.
