The Carbon Footprint of Training Big Models

We're thinking about efficiency like you'd be an idiot not to be thinking about efficiency when you're burning as much like compute as we are. The application of these models to being energy efficient is actually net super positive. We've got hundreds and hundreds of features that we're building on top of large models right now inside of the company. Each one of those is a thing that either wouldn't exist because it would have been too expensive to do before or impossible.
