The Fleet Street Press: A Brief History

The Fleet Street press was partisan lowercase p partisan and sometimes upper case p partisan, but it was a brawling kind of competitive space. I wouldn't say the news pages themselves were written by ideologues. There was a real division between the news and editorial. The paper was the telegraph, also known as the Tory graph, so everyone knew where it was coming from. It was actually really well-liked for its sports pages, which were really good and very thorough. But then it's,. you know, it's editorial writers, it's little click where really fatures pioneers.
