The Central Flaw of the 90s Approach to Power
You have to have powerful social groups that represent working class people outside of the political system. Like unions, and like churches, those are the two major mass membership organizations in modern societies. Those basically are organized labor and some form not necessarily the form that exists today was religious institutions conceivably you could have grassroots civic institutions. It can't just be a matter of liking something else. That's not real politics.
