The Question of Divine Silence

Lamentations was written by jeremiah after the fall of jerusalem. In chapter three, just to read a few verses from it, he says, i am one who has seen affliction under the rod of god's wrath. So coming back to the question of divine silence, that refers to periods of our life where we reach out to god, looking for an answer and don't feel anything. We just feel completely abandoned and as if he's completely ignoring us.
