How to Focus Attention on Smell in Rabbits
Olfactory bulb cortex is a little bit like cerebral cortex. It's a cortex that sells in it that are organized in a sort of not columnar pattern, but basically a radial pattern. What Walter Freeman found is that when rabbits begin to focus on a particular smell, and they've learned to recognize this smell, the activity in the olfactory bulb goes from relatively chaotic to regular pattern. Each smell has a distinctive regular pattern.
