Having Coptic written in the Greek alphabet gives us more information about Egyptian vowels than we would have otherwise, right? This helped so much in recreating the phonological and morphological system. There's a lot of work still to get from what Coptic preserves for us to what ancient Egyptian probably was based on hints from things like names as preserved by Greek or better yet, um, Akkadian material.
