When i was writing the dance section, i kept coming back to myself. I'm a black woman, and i can't say they cause i am one of them. So when i went to liol leflor, who wrote the r forward, and or chander waring, who said, use yourself an example in the book, because you can't talk aboutt as them. It's about we. And so i did something unusual. I included, i used my personal, i used the personal in the book. You know, im that that black women are not just ththe the sam idea of a, we're not, this idea of what people think were strong.
