"i wrote on oranges new black for three seasons, and there were jokes in that writer's room that i was the one who actually knew how to make a bomb out of things you could buy in the commissary," she says. "I im a big researcher in general, it's like a huge part of my process is is research." She adds: "On this it was especially important because i was an outsider coming into this community, and i was not a part of the deaf community...this is a community that has been barely represented"
