Harmony's web services suck. Logitech wants it to be smart and they want to update the database over time. So this piece of hardware that's going to work forever because it never needs to talk to the internet will get bricked by software support on the line if I get a new component. This is exactly what happened with WebOS. If you make the thing, open jail breakable, unlockable dev modal from the jump, then when your web service inevitably dies, users that love that product for whatever insane reason can band together,. unlock the thing and do stuff with it.
