Is There Going to Be an Infallible Teaching Office in the Church?
There's no evidence of a single bishop in Rome until well into the second century. But we have an abundance of examples of a plurality of leaders over local churches. In Ephesians 4 and 1 Corinthians 12, there are passages that outline the offices of the church. We're not looking for mathematical certainty when we look at historical documents. What we're asking is what's the best interpretation of the data?
