How to Write a Book?
There's a lot of emotional labor in writing a book about hardship and about struggles that seem, in some way, to get nowhere. My parents themselves experienced a rampant discrimination of both gender and race. And i knew that there was a whole history there of getting through these struggles. So that kind of enabled me to be hopeful and to see that there could be an end.
