Rebecca, one of our matriarchs, was sort of troubled by the very nature of God. And she was trying to figure this out because she could see that there was good and there was evil in the world. That feels to me like such a sensitive account of the kind of spiritual struggle that so many of us go through. The relationship I have to Torah doesn't exist in its current form without them.
