The Finite Nature of Many Games

In infinite games, you're just playing it. And when does it end? It never ends. A game like settlers of catan is about trade and economics condensed into a form that everyone can grasp, compete and excel at within a set time limit. Likewise, i'm a big fan of miniature war games, at least when they're uniformly based in fantasy or science fiction. I guess fighting games, video games and so forth can also fall into this category as well. They are this thing that is large and complex made into a smaller form that can be grasped, that can be excelled at,. et cetera.
