Rorty's Public Need for a Synoptic View of the Goals of a Democratic Society
Rorty sees a contrast between the private need for autonomy yeah and the public need for. He says that Habermas' view of intersubjectivity is social useless philosophy. Rorty: I don't think rordie wants to make room for this kind of public talk like habermas does but he doesn't want to define it in same terms either.
