The History of Music in the 50s

In the 50s in American culture, evangelicals are among the loudest critics of the rock and roll phenomenon. In 1960, Billy Graham says on an interview with someone, if I were 17 today, I'd stay as far away from rock and roll as I could. This is not the real Jesus of Nazareth, the actual person who lived. And it's not Jesus as he would have been understood by Israelites in the first century. It's Jesus as understood through fundamentally a Southern Baptist perspective,. but it is a long haired, sandalwearing social profit type who preaches love.
