The Importance of Labor Market Policy

I'm a big fan of free trade, for instance, but I would say free trade doesn't matter that much right now. The things I really want that would have a huge impact are immigration and housing policy. And it's one of the points I like to raise to people is there's so many people who are concerned about all the bad things about capitalism. It's just hard to keep those things in mind when you're living on $2 a day.
