The Importance of Simple Art
Many modern artists, particularly those who don't have much craft behind them, really run away from being too clear about what they're trying to do. Most of Western art is essentially didactic art with very simple things. There are many works of contemporary modern art that have messages, but these are not brought out. I'm interested in changing the frame. If I was rehanging Tate Modern Gallery in London, I'd keep the collection. But I would change the headings. Artists still tends to be displayed by period or by style or by a genre. Compare that to what a temple is or a church is. A church mingles all kinds of works of art and aligns these
