The Reality of Human Trafficking
As many as 21 million people around the world are trafficked each year and it generates an estimated 32 billion dollars. According to the US Department of Justice, 14,500 to 17,500 people are trafficked annually into the United States. Human trafficking has a devastating long-term effect on mental health - up to 80% of human trafficking victims face depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
