Hills Angels holds up pretty well today, but in its time, it must have been a real stunner. The audience at the Chinese Theatre ate it up, giving Hughes a 20-minute standing ovation. Two films he had produced concurrent to Hills Angels, The Racket and The Meeting Game, were both hits. He convinced Howard Hawks to make the original Scarface, and encouraged him to defy the censorship standards of the time.
