The Blackout in the Twin Towers

Elaine, her upper east side restaurant, threw a little street party and was reportedly pouring champagne for the likes of Andy Warhol and Calvin Klein. Diners at the four-year-old windows on the world restaurant at the top of the Twin Towers were stuck up there. They finished their diners and they were able to actually go down in big groups in the freight elevators that were run by generators in the kitchen.
