The idea that disability is primarily socially constructed can be met with incredulous stares. Elizabeth Barnes points out that this definition cannot handle people who have so called invisible disabilities like chronic fatigue or chronic pain. So what Barnes suggests and I think rightly so is that something is wrong with this definition.
