The Importance of Realignment in Marriage

I think what happens with misaligned desire is that it's true that gay Christians, particularly if they're side B or hold a traditional view, experience exclusion from one created good. But only in order for them to be radically included in that created goods eventual transformation. The reason it's so important to have this theology of misalignment is it allows us to have a real unity. Rather than saying, let's just cover that over. Get rid of that gay desire. You're now heterosexual and you're like us. That's uniformity. That's not unity. And I think we need to get better at describing a difference that can become unified.
