A thing that i feel is really important is the preparation that you do before you go into the study, so that when you end up with your data, it's ready and easy to use. For example, in the book, i talk about my fondness of mind maps. And i find my maps alrady helpful for that, because you can predetermine what topics youregoin to talk about, capt your notes live against those topics. So by doing that rough sort live as you're capturing your notes, it helps mea that when you do come to synthesis, it's already vaguely in the right sort of area or a lot less intimidating to deal with.
