I have never beaten the game just so everyone knows. I've only gotten to level 29 and that's on the DS version, which is easier. Grid bugs shock you a little when they strike you and they can't move diagonally but neither of those things is really important to the player. Even mammals can kill you if they get up on you. If you get surrounded early on level one, it's definitely possible to die. Once you become an experienced player, often the earlier level is sort of more dangerous because you haven't picked up very many items yet. Right.
