These are not telescopes like maybe we think of when we hear the word telescope. They look more like giant dishes right like the kind you see in the movie contact. So they're like having tapas for dinner instead of a big dish. As the information washes across your array you can tell which direction it came from. You can do interferometry to get all sorts of useful information. It's almost as good as having a single telescope that's like five miles wide.
