At Google, we had to be super specific about what libraries we use based on the licenses they had. Not every open source license that is freely open source means you can use it as part of a bundled product. Because we can just choose whatever is best for the problem at hand for our client, we can move super fast. We just don't have to reimplement the wheel at all. It's much more freeing. Like at Google, it was cool. And I think it all says to do with the point in time we are.
