The Differences Between Drop by and Drop In

Drop by is a transitive verb, but it can also be intransitive. Both mean like unannounced. No appointment. Just come by. When in doubt, just use drop by. It always works with the grammar. You can always say drop by with or without that direct object. But if you try to interchange drop in and drop in on sometimes the grammar will be wrong because you need this other preposition.
