Sexual Violence in Ukraine
It can take years, even decades for people to come to terms with their abuse and speak openly about it. In Bosnia, where women were raped in the conflict 30 years ago, some are only now starting to tell their stories. Survivors talk about feeling shame, not wanting to reach hormone hives to their families. Men also often don't talk about sexual assault. They instead speak about torture. This sexual violence used in Ukraine was described as systematic.
